Could be a on again off again rain event this weekend. Sub-tropical Storm Ana is still moving around a little bit and some of the models are now suggesting a more easterly track towards us instead of Raleigh.

Tropical Storm Ana is scheduled to come ashore in South Carolina, under the current track. The track and intensity are still showing some variability, but at the present time the remaining low pressure system will pass near Beaufort County on Monday.

The good news is that the Hurricane center is not using the words Tropical event, they are using the words Sub-tropical (Nor'easter in comparison) which means rain, wind, minor inundation.

It has been a very busy day for everyone today, however, the next storm is coming. The NWS has issued the enclosed Winter Storm Watch, which includes Beaufort County, and is issued 24-36 hours prior to the arrival of a Winter Storm.

Secondary Roads are extremely icy this morning, with Primary roads having slick spots on them. The NWS has extended the Winter Storm Warning for Beaufort County until 4:00pm today.

Weather Service is likely to issue a Weather Storm Watch tomorrow for icing Monday night into and through 11:00am Tuesday morning. We could see freezing rain or sleet as early as 5:00pm Monday evening.

Please caution everyone that this afternoon and evening we have the possibility of severe storms capable of producing strong damaging winds and large hail throughout Beaufort County. We cannot rule out the possibility of a tornado occurring depending on the amount of sunshine we see this afternoon.
